STORIES: SCENES FROM A BUILDING
The 1960s, a time of antiwar protests, countercultural movements, and the "generation gap." ImprompTwo returns to its roots with their deep dive into the gritty, American gothic style of improvised theatre. Set in the midwest, where hard work is futile and dreams have gone by the wayside, American Gothic delves into what keeps people going when everything is changing and nowhere feels right. Inspired by the great American playwrights, they will create a beautiful, improvised play filled with stunning silences, passion, and pathos.
Quotes
"ImprompTwo are one of the best improv acts I have ever seen. Grounded, real, organic, slow-burn and compelling with every move. The improvisers commit so deeply and patiently to their characters, and flesh out real people, in the moment, with outstandingly believable emotional stakes between them. The complete antithesis to the laboured over-enthusiasm of so much improv. - Five stars!" MC Hammersmith
"ImprompTwo makes you weep and laugh in the space of one show. There is genuine feeling and tension played by excellent performers who have absolute trust in one another. While watching it , you hope the show will never end." - Jonathan Nguyen
