Emma founded Liverpool Comedy Improv in 2015, teaching improv to all levels. Her early career as a professional actor includes various theatre, TV and film credits. She has been improvising since 2007 and trained with leading improv professionals with a broad range of styles and philosophies, such as Second City, iO; UCB; Annoyance Theatre & The Groundlings.
She has founded three improv teams (The He Ha’s; The Unscriptables; Boss Birds) and performs in her duo team Moses & Bird with Stuart Moses. Simone is a theatre practitioner from Malta with experience in acting, directing and scriptwriting. She has an MFA in Staging Shakespeare from the University of Exeter and a strong background in scripted theatre. She is a member of the improv troupes Playing Dead Theatre, Foolgoose and Sabir, the online troupe Close Distance and is one half of the duos Invisible Women and Pairentheses. She was a founding member of the Brussels-based troupe The Ghost Sheep. She has taught at the Dramatic Improv Festival in Chicago, at Agorapp in Italy, and at the ImproBrussels improv school.
In 2022, she organized Improvizza!, Malta's first ever improv festival. She is also a certified intimacy director and coordinator, working on various projects for stage and screen. Exploring ways of making intimacy safe for improvisers has led her to develop workshops that allow improvisers to dig deeper in their scenes and express intimacy naturally and safely. |
Eji is the founder of ImproQuo, a comedy theatre company based in Manchester, and a long-time performing artist. He has years of experience in comedy improvisation, including performing in shows, coaching teams, and directing and running live improv productions.
He has also appeared as a regular on BBC Radio Manchester, hosted the main stage at the Festival of Manchester and performed stand-up all around England. |
Hailing from the North West of England, Jen is an improviser, poet, teacher and coach. She has performed in all-female comedy troupes and Liverpool's first UCB style team as well as short form 'who's line is it anyway' type shows.
Jen currently tours with The Incomplete Works of Shakespeare, including a sell out 5 star run at the Pleasance Courtyard at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival. She has also created a fully improvised family show and continues to develop shows and formats both for her own team and as a coach and director for others. As a trained teacher, Jen teaches and coaches across the nationally and internationally. This has included international festivals, teams who've gone on to perform at international festivals and individuals who've gone on to carve out professional comedy careers. |
Owen Scrivens has been improvising for 20 years. He has performed and taught regularly in Liverpool, Newcastle and Sheffield during this time with companies such as Sticky Floor Improv, Impropriety, Open Heart Theatre and Playing Dead Theatre.
He has learned from teachers across Europe in a variety of improv styles. His main interest is where theatre and improvisation intersect, but this does not need to mean losing the fun and humor of spontaneous performance. Owen has performed twice at LiF with Living.Dying.Dead and Old Haunts. He currently is director and teacher for SaSS Improv in Sheffield. |
Mark is a multi-award-winning actor and director and has worked for over twenty-five years as a professional devisor, director, improviser, storyteller and workshop facilitator. He brings a wealth of knowledge in developing stories for the stage and he loves making things up spontaneously. His PhD is based on these very subjects.
Mark toured nationally and internationally (2004-2014) with the long form show called Hoof! Since then, he has developed numerous long form improv shows on behalf of Wing It – Impro & Stories . Mark set up and curated the first two editions of Liverpool improvisation festival held at the Unity theatre, Liverpool. Mark's producing experience spans venues, festivals, and companies across regional, national, and international stages. Passionate about developing new work, he collaborates with companies / artists or spearheads projects from scratch. He remains active as a developer, director, and improvisational performer.
